381 days ago Eaglemoss Collections ceased trading. Websites changed from an 'ORDER NOW' format to 'REGISTER YOUR INTEREST' and the customer service phone lines went dark. Now, we can move on and forward now that our builds have been rescued. All told, my issues with Eaglemoss began well before then but I am ready to move on...
First of all, my thanks to FanHome and Deagostini for rescuing our Eaglemoss pop culture buildups. FanHome have taken on four collections, the Ghostbusters ECTO-1, Eleanor Mustang, Back to the Future DeLorean, and the Star Trek USS Enterprise. I was fortunate to finish my DeLorean under the Eaglemoss banner, but that was the end of my luck. At the time of #thursdaybuildday return this coming week, my ECTO-1 will have been sitting dormant for two years at the exact mid-point of the subscription. I am so excited to continue because I am building the other three. If you would like to get going on any of these head over to FanHome today!
Why Thursday Build Day? Thursday Build Day was born out of my work schedule in the full service restaurant sector. Whether you are in management or an hourly employee, working in restaurants mean your weekends are spoken for making model building on the weekends a challenge at best but I had Thursday as my standard day off for years prior. Even though I do not work in restaurants any longer, Thursday Build Day has been too good to me not to continue. Thursday Build Day will be reserved for the Part Works, of which I have five on the go presently with the Titanic on hold while these orphaned Eaglemoss collections get finished over the next 18 months.
Preliminary monthly #thursdaybuildday schedule...always subject to change given delivery delays, stock issues, etc.
First Thursday - Ghostbusters ECTO-1
Second Thursday - Knight Rider K.I.T.T.
Third Thursday - Star Trek USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D
Fourth Thursday - Eleanor Mustang
The Batmobile Tumbler will not have a set schedule and I will do a Thursday Build Day update when they come in!
Boxed model kits (Enterprise Refit, Top Gun F-14, etc.) are not planned for Thursday Build Day updates
